What Are Discord Audio Channels?
In addition to our Zoom Conversation Calls, Conversation Members can join audio rooms on Discord to practice your German with other learners.
Suggested Times
While our audio rooms are always available, we provide daily meetup times to make it easier to find partners:
Every day (Mon–Sun):
- 03:00 CET → check your local time
- 10:00 CET → check your local time
- 15:00 CET → check your local time
- 20:00 CET → check your local time
Note that these conversations are peer-led, without moderation by Easy German team members. If you prefer structured sessions with topics, breakout rooms, and Easy German hosts, join our Conversation Calls.
How to Join Audio Rooms
To join our audio rooms on Discord, first make sure to connect your membership account with Discord.
Then, scroll to the Conversation Members section in the side bar and tap one of the available audio channels named sprechen-üben.
Tips & Safety
- Keep groups small for better practice.
- Switch topics every 10–15 minutes to expose yourself to more vocabulary.
- Be inclusive. Slow down for beginners and explain key words in simple German or English as needed.
- Use headphones to reduce echo.
- Be respectful. No harassment or explicit content.
- If someone makes you uncomfortable, leave the room and get in touch with us.

- Respect the Discord Community Guidelines If you join our Discord server you agree to adhere to the official Discord Community Guidelines.
- Avoid inappropriate language Swearwords can be interesting when learning a language and you are welcome to debate them in the #sprache channel, however, any derogatory language addressed at others in this group is prohibited.
- Don't spam Please don't send a lot of small messages right after each other, so that the chat flow won't be interrupted. Please also don't spam other members with direct messages. If you contact someone and you do not receive an answer, they might just not like to engage in private messages.
- No pornographic/adult/other NSFW material This is a community server and we don't accept any adult content.
- Direct messages By default you can receive direct messages by other members of any Discord server. You can disable this option in the privacy settings of your account.
- No advertisements You are welcome to share your favorite resources for learning German, may it be other YouTube channels, podcasts or apps, as long as those are personal recommendations and you are not affiliated with the business.
- No offensive names and profile pictures You will be asked to change your name or picture if our team considers them inappropriate.
- Removals We reserve the right to remove members from this discord server if they do not behave respectfully towards other members.
All channels will have pinned messages explaining what they are there for and how everything works. If you don't understand something, feel free to ask in the #ask-for-help channel!
