What Are Conversation Calls?

Our Zoom conversation calls allow you to improve your speaking skills in a friendly and supportive environment, moderated by the Easy German team.

Each call focuses on one specific topic, so you can learn new vocabulary and actively use it in conversation. After a short group introduction, we split into breakout rooms (3–4 people each) to make sure everyone gets plenty of speaking time. In between breakout rooms, we come back together in the big group to share what we discussed and connect with others.

This format gives you a balance of small-group practice and larger group exchange. It’s also a great opportunity to meet other learners and interact directly with the Easy German team.

Zoom Call Schedule

We offer moderated Zoom calls five times per week. Occasionally, calls may be canceled due to national holidays or unforeseen circumstances.

FAQ

Which German Level Do I Need?

We welcome learners of all levels. If you’re a complete beginner, you may not understand everything that’s discussed, but our team will explain important vocabulary and answer questions via chat.

What should I keep in mind as a participant of the Conversation Calls?

In our calls you have the opportunity to talk to other members and us, the Easy German Team, about various topics, work on your conversation skills and have lots of fun. To make these conversations as pleasant as possible for all participants, we would like to ask you to keep a few things in mind:

  1. Be on time (if possible): It isn’t a problem if you join a few minutes late. However, if you can be on time, it would be helpful to avoid delays in the process and to facilitate the technical side (setting up the breakout rooms etc.).,
  1. Activate your camera and enter your name: If possible, turn on your camera so that we and the other members can see you. This contributes to a pleasant and personal conversation experience. By right-clicking on your picture you can enter the name that will appear for everyone to address you by.,
  1. Raise your hand before you speak (only applies to the large, shared room): Use the appropriate function (,,reactions") on Zoom to virtually raise your hand before you start speaking. This helps to avoid interruptions and gives everyone a chance to speak.,
  1. Be mindful about your speaking time: Please be considerate of the other participants and don’t speak for a disproportionately long time so that other members also have the opportunity to speak and participate in the conversation.,
  1. Listen attentively: Take time to listen to other members and value their contributions. Respect the opinions and perspectives of other participants. Stay non-judgemental and empathetic. We want everyone to feel comfortable.,
  1. Introduce yourself briefly: At the beginning of a breakout room, you can briefly introduce yourself to the other members if you wish. This encourages interaction and creates a more personal atmosphere.
Can Children Join Conversation Calls?

During our conversation calls, participants split into smaller groups, and we cannot directly oversee all individual discussions. For this reason, we cannot guarantee child-friendly content within these settings.

If underaged learners wish to participate, we strongly recommend that they only do so with the guidance and supervision of a parent or legal guardian to ensure a safe and suitable learning experience.

If you, as a parent or guardian, wish for your child to participate in our conversation calls, we kindly ask that you be present during the session. This ensures that the environment remains appropriate and that you are actively involved in guiding the experience.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in creating a safe and suitable environment for all users.
